I have read blog after blog about this and I couldn’t believe it. I had to read it for myself.
Planned Parenthood of Indiana is offering gift certificates, in increments of $25, for the woman’s “birth control of choice,” meaning potentially abortion, obviously.
“Looking for an unusual, yet practical gift this holiday season? Planned Parenthood of Indiana (PPIN) is now offering gift certificates for services or the recipient’s choice of birth-control method,” PPIN says in a release posted on its Web site.
Holy God.
I find it hard to have an intelligent discussion about something so appalling.
As a libertarian leaning Republican, I can understand and respect most of the arguments for a mothers “right” to “choose,” without agreeing with them. I understand that most pro-choicers don’t consider a fetus a living thing and want government to stay away from their bodies. I get it.
But to put an abortion on the same level as an iPod, GPS, or even a new pair of socks, is sickening. I can see it now.

DAUGHTER: (DIGS THROUGH SOCK) wow Mom! planned parenthood gift certificates?!
MOM: that’s right sweetheart! i know you re going up and you’re going to do things, no matter what I tell you. This way, if you and Johnny decide to move your relationship to the next level and something happens, you wont have to worry about dropping out of school!
DAUGHTER: WOW! thanks Mom!! Johnny and I have been using condoms up till now, but I guess this give’s us at least one free pass!!
